release description

A compilation put together by the South African producer Andrew Mitchley for Palace Lounge, 'Palace Lounge Presents Cafe d'Afrique' is aimed toward listeners craving downtempo beats. 'Cafe d'Afrique' brings together the cream of the South African and European dance music scenes. Producers, bands, songwriters and exquisite female vocalists all come together seamlessly in this non-stop mix. 'Cafe d'Afrique' is a fresh musical addition to the “chill out lounge” genre offering up a distinct and seductive palette of vocals and jazz-inflected electronica. Already the #1 selling dance music collection in South Africa, 'Cafe d'Afrique' makes its way to US stores.

The artists showcased on 'Cafe d'Afrique' including, Cofield Mundi, Dino Moran and Goldfish might may not be immediately recognizable, but they are held in the highest esteem in South Africa as they are “Best Pop Album” SAMA nominee, internationally renowned DJ and jazz/electronica stalwarts respectively. The series has always been the best-selling compilations in the genre in South Africa and these artists are finally getting a long-overdue introduction to US listeners.
